Kilynn still sucks her thumb. She had almost given it up, but then after she busted her lip and got stiches last Feb, she started sucking it even more then before.
She uses it as comfort. But she's doing it when watching movies, in the car, tired, etc.
It actually is effecting her teeth, and spreading them out.
Now would be a good time to stop.
We shall see.

We have the same issue here :) Luckily, Maisie's arm is broken and she can't suck her thumb...though I'm anxious to see what happens when her cast is off :)
I sucked my thumb until I was about 7 and my parents tried everything to stop me...didn't work! LOL
The only thing we do with Maisie is not allow her to suck her thumb any time but at night, so when she isn't allowed we just say "thumb" and she stops. I think in many ways it has just become a habit, so we're trying to cut the habit part first, then approach the soothing part of it.

I remember that yucky tasting nail polish for thumb suckers. How long did amy suck her thumb? Kila sucks his...I think I've still seen him do it over here when he's watchign a movie....I WISHED cam sucked his thumb as a baby..he could not be comforted at night no matter what I did..that boy needed to like his thumb so he woudln't wake up every 1/2 hour :(
