We've been busy. Things seem to be slowing down though, thankfully. although we are still waiting for SUMMER to arrive. We spent this last weekend in Spokane, WA (eastside) for my sisters graduation. She got her second masters, this one in Urban planning and development.
We had a nice time, it was the first time we'd been out there since she moved there almost 2 years ago. The kids loved seeing their auntie, they had been missing her.
The first day there, she took them downtown to watch Kung-Fu Panda, and they rode the bus back to her apartment...then they walked to a park in her neighborhood. Where she lives is very pretty, with lots of old houses, it was pretty.
Saturday we did a quick swim in the hotel pool, then the graduation. Afterwards, there was a BBQ and my sis' friends house for 7 of the graduates and their families. We also went swimming after that as well...kids love it.
Sunday we met my sister at the park to play for awhile, then we had pizza at her place. It was fathers day and my brothers 6th birthday. After that we went downtown to Riverfront Park. There was a big fountain the kids loved playing in , except Luke for some reason. They also got to go on some fair-type rides...Kilynn loves em'.
After all this excitment and day in the heat we began our 5 hour drive back home...of course, the kids slept a bit after all that. So that was good.
All in all, it was a good weekend away. We'd needed one of those. We're hoping to go back sooner than later, and to also go to Silverwood Park in northern Idaho.
Kilynns last day of school is tomorrow. They had a "giving of certificates" and a celebrating on Monday. It was cute, and fun. It was nice out, so they got to play in the sprinklers too.
Her recital is this weekend, today was her last dance class. I need to come up with a orphan costume. And they are suppose to look neglected. I need to remind myself of that. She's also wearing a Dorothy style costume for her ballet piece in the recital. It's cute. That they had made, and we paid for. They thought the orphan costumes would be simple enough and would safe us money on paying for another costume. Good thinking! Dance is damn expensive as it is. Their tap piece is to Hard Knock Life from Annie, and the ballet part is Somewhere over the rainbow from Wizard of Oz. Should be cute. I'm excited.
