rubber boots

I'm tired this evening.

Lucas and I met Kilynns class on the beach for her field trip. It was fun, and luckily stopped raining.
It wasn't a "go swimming in the water" day, but the kids had a great time. Luckily the tide was out as well, makes it funner to find shells, crabs, and whatever might come up. Lots of kids in their rain boots.

I use to say I'd never let my kids wear rubber boots, mostly because they always looked so silly to me.
BUT, now that I have kids, and live in the Pacific Northwest, I do see that they are almost a necassity. The kids have always had a pair each season. It's great for mud, cloudy days at the beach, and helping Grammy in the garden.

Maybe someday I'll convince myself to get a pair. But it took 10 years for me to get *water shoes* so we shall see.

Anyway, it was fun. Lucas spent most of the time playing with a little friend his age. He's the brother to a girl in Kileys glass.....who also live around the corner. So they've been playing together alot. Now when Lucas hears them outside, he starts yelling their names. It's nice for him to have a friend of his own. I mean, he has some. Most though are my friends kids'. So this is HIS first little friend.

So, then after the beach, I brought Lucas home. He desperatly needed a warm shower, and clean clothes. We ran to the bank, post office, and then to the painting place. I wanted to put a base coat on the pot Kilynn is going to paint for her teacher. I saw a cute idea.
A pot, some seeds, and a note that says "thanks for helping me grow". Cute huh?

I imagine you could put a plant in it as well, and use ceramic pots painted or not painted.

Then we came home, and got comfy on the couch. My sister came over with her kids, we went in the hot tub, and played outside. Now we're back to sitting comfy on the couch. hehe.
I need to pick my mom up at 8:30. She's coming back from a three week trip to California. The kids are excited to see her. So is my laundry. LOL. ;0) just kidding.
